Chair: Mrs Margaret Salter (Community Manager)
Member of the Management Committee since May 2013. Recently moved to Suffolk from Hampshire where Manager worked as an Investors in People Assessor and independent Management Consultant for ten years; prior to that worked in the commercial sector, specialising in HR and Executive Development.
Vice-Chair: Ms Brigitte Carter (Local Authority Manager)
My current role is within Resource Management. Previous roles have included Social Inclusion Manager and working for British Telecom.
Mrs Fran Alexander (Interim Headteacher)
Appointed Interim Headteacher from September 2016. Previous role was First Base Ipswich Deputy Head (September 2013-July 2016) . Joined Management Committee in Spring Term 2014. Prior to joining First Base her previous roles included Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator within a large primary school in Ipswich as well as having the opportunity to work as a class teacher across a range of year groups and settings.
Mr Mark Girling (Community Manager)
I have been Headteacher at a local primary school for five years. I am well aware of the challenges facing PRUs in Suffolk and their contribution to the lives of vulnerable pupils and hope I will be able to assist in raising the profile not only of the Unit's success but also the outreach work undertaken.
Mrs Jane Gould (Community Manager)
My husband and I have four children, six grandchildren and run a Bed and Breakfast business in the small Suffolk village where we have lived for over thirty years. I have worked in Social Care, The Criminal Justice system, Education, Playwork and the music industry and am involved in community projects; I have been a school governor before and after a break was pleased to be able to reuse some of these skills by serving on the Management Committee of First Base Ipswich.
Miss Cate Fairweather (Teaching Staff Representative)
Role at First Base is class teacher and Alternate Designated Safeguarding Lead. Previous roles include teacher at large community primary school in Ipswich.
Mrs Natalie Quinton (Non-Teaching Staff Representative)
Role at First Base is Business Manager. Previous roles include School Business Manager at a large primary school and Financial Controller in a large Audit, Tax, Consultancy and Finance Services company in the City of London.
